Went there last night for the New Years set menu. It was impeccable, great dishes, very well designed and made perfectly, with all the flavours of each dish perfectly complimenting each other. Also, very filling. Would definitely eat there again. We loved everything we tried, include the excellent cocktail menu. I would love it if there was a set menu in the main menu as well. As these dishes went so well together and felt perfectly crafted to go together I had the baby pea bruschetta and my partner had involtini di pollo. Unfortunately not pictured. For main, I had rafanata (potato cake with pecorino cheese and veges) and my partner had the braised beef short rib. These are pictured. He particularly like the surprises of things like raspberries stuffed into the tomatoes. Dessert we both got the almond and orange cake, it was amazing and seemed to be soaked in orange, pictured. Everything was exceptional from the texture, taste and presentation of the food to the service and atmosphere. Loved the big floor to ceiling windows. I felt taken care of by the friendly, attentive staff. Food was meticulously crafted.
I visited The Good Spot Eatery for an interview and was deeply moved by the kindness and warm hospitality of the staff. Each dish was carefully prepared, incredibly delicious, and made generous use of local Wairarapa ingredients! The restaurant's atmosphere was warm and cozy, and I was able to learn about the region's food culture and the connection between local producers and restaurants. An unforgettable dining experience. We booked out the whole restaurant for a farewell dinner to honour the retiring CEO of our company. From start to finish, everything was outstanding β truly exceptional food, attentive and impeccable service, and a warm, enjoyable ambience. The menu was extraordinary. The crayfish tortellini with saffron and kaffir lime sauce was exquisite, the venison tartare on potato gratin sublime, and the wild mushroom gnocchi absolutely superb β feather-light and delicately textured, with pinenut purΓ©e, truffle oil and an extravagant topping of Asian honeycomb snow blossom, a true delicacy harvested from the sea and beautifully executed. The slow-cooked lamb with mango, pistachios and puffed quinoa was the standout favourite for most of our 50 guests β incredibly succulent and full of flavour. Dessert was equally praised: a celebration chocolate gateau I made, perfectly complemented by the chef's gelato and chocolate mousse, decorated with cherry and dried raspberry. Tript, as owner and head chef, also made excellent wine recommendations that paired beautifully with the dishes β Urlar Sparkling, Schubert Pinot Noir, Rockferry Pinot Gris and Bogle Chardonnay were all spot on. There is a genuine passion for food here, reflected in the creativity of the flavour combinations and the elegance of the presentation. We shared small and large plates. The food was incredible- so much flavour and beautifully presented. Every dish was elegant and delicious. Would definitely recommend and would return if we were in Masterton again. Special mention of the waiter who was friendly, knowledgeable and provided perfect service.
Honestly the best experience for food and service ever. We had the New Yearβs Eve Italian dinner, 3 course. Most amazing service and food ever. Food hands down the best weβve had. Maybe ever had. All 3 courses. Service is second to none, bought our toddler with us and heβs been taken care of and was allowed his childrenβs menu. Lovely, friendly and amazing staff. We will be back. Make sure you donβt miss this. Yum. Starters I had the chicken. Main I had the beef. Dessert I had the tiramisu. Cocktails to go with it! Best ever.
